Steve Smith -

Land Manager

Mr. Smith is a Landman with over 38 years of extensive experience. He received a B.B.A. in Petroleum Land Management from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Mr. Smith has performed work in Utah, New Mexico, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming, North Dakota, Montana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nevada and California. He has held numerous positions with increasing responsibilities at the companies he has worked for during his career which include EOG Resources, Burlington Resources, ConocoPhillips and Hunt Oil Company among others. His extensive experience encompasses a wide range of Land work which includes performing title review, forming and managing Federal Units, negotiating and preparing leases, farmouts, joint operating agreements and other Land related agreements. In addition, he has substantial experience in negotiating and closing on the acquisition and divesting of producing/non-producing properties. Mr. Smith has also been responsible for ensuring Land Administration systems are in place to accurately report WI and NRIs for reserves, production and economics reports. He has significant experience in managing and mentoring Land Department staff and ensuring that effective procedures and processes are in place, overseeing and managing Land G&A and capital budgets.
